RAYVN RAIL PVS-14 AND THERMAL DEVICE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Attaching the PVS-14 Night Vision Device

  1. Ensure you have a medium-sized flat-head screwdriver handy.
  2. Identify the longer, curved RAYVN PVS-14 arm. This arm is specifically designed for the PVS-14 night vision device.
  3. Align the flat head screw on the RAYVN PVS-14 arm with the screw hole in the PVS-14 device body, ensuring the arm's male alignment boss/bump fits into the female groove on the PVS-14 device.
  4. Hand-tighten the screw to achieve a snug fit. Do not over-tighten.

Attaching the Thermal Device

  1. You will need both a medium-sized flat-head screwdriver and a 9/64 size hex tool for this step.
  2. Begin by attaching the RAYVN MUM rail adapter plate to the MUM rail on the thermal device:
  3. Slide the RAYVN MUM rail adapter onto the thermal device’s MUM rail, centering the RAYVN adapter on the device’s rail. Hand-tighten all three hex screws securely. Do not over-tighten.
  4. Align the flat head screw on the RAYVN short “L” shaped arm with the hole in the RAYVN MUM rail adapter plate.
    1. Using the medium-sized flat-head screwdriver, hand-tighten the screw for a snug fit. Do not over-tighten.

Final Eye Placement (IPD) Adjustment

Now that both devices are attached, you can make the necessary adjustments to get the perfect fit:

  1. To adjust the Inter-Pupillary Distance (IPD), locate the knobs on each pod.
  2. Loosen the knobs to allow for adjustments.
  3. Once adjusted to your preference, tighten the knobs to secure the IPD settings.

Congratulations! Your devices are now attached and ready for use.

Please refer to our videos or contact our customer support team for further assistance or if you have questions.

Note: Always follow safety guidelines and product-specific instructions for proper handling and usage of the devices.

 RAYVN RAIL PRODUCT INSTRUCTIONS:

SWITCHING EYES FOR DEVICES

Important Note: Before proceeding with these instructions, ensure the devices are powered off and disconnected from any power sources.

Tools Required:

  • 9/64 size hex tool
  • Medium flat-head screwdriver

Switching Eyes for Devices:

  1. Device Removal:
    • Use a medium flat-head screwdriver to remove both devices from their respective arms. Take your time to avoid any damage to the equipment.
    • PRO TIP: Place the devices and all parts on a clean, flat surface to easily track them during this process.
  1. Arm(s) Removal:
    • PRO TIP: Take clear pictures or make a diagram of the original arm orientation if needed, to avoid confusion during reassembly.
    • Remove the cross bolts that attach the arms to the pods one at a time. Each pod has one bolt that goes through the pod and the arm.
      1. NOTE: Use caution as there are two small bushings wedged between the arm and the pod on either side of each arm. These bushings can fall out during disassembly and get lost.
      2. Take notes on the position of each bushing (which one goes where) and put them aside in a safe place to ensure a smooth reassembly.
  1. Switching Arm(s) Side:
    • PVS-14 Arm:
      1. MAINTAINING ITS ORIGINAL ORIENTATION, move the PVS-14 arm to the other pod.
      2. NOTE: Check that both bushings are correctly placed on either side of the arm before proceeding to tightening in step #4 below.
    • Thermal Arm:
      1. Rotate the RAYVN “L” shaped thermal device arm 180 degrees so that the “L” shape continues to point to the outside and move the arm to the other pod.
      2. NOTE: Check that both bushings are correctly placed on the other side of the arm before proceeding to tightening in step #4 below.
  1. Arm Reinstallation (Tightening):
    • Reinstall each cross bolt through the pod and arm and hand-tighten. Adjust the tightness to your desired articulation resistance. The more you tighten, the harder the arms will be to articulate. You can adjust this in the field whenever you prefer greater or lesser resistance.
      1. NOTE: If you are tightening and not getting resistance or getting a rough feel to the articulation, check to ensure you did not forget to reinstall both bushings.
  1. Switching RAYVN Thermal Adapter Orientation (the part that sits between the thermal device and the thermal arm):
    • Unscrew all three hex screws on the thermal adapter enough so the RAYVN MUM rail adapter can slide off the thermal device’s MUM rail.
    • Rotate the RAYVN MUM rail adapter 180 degrees (reverse it) and slide it back onto the thermal device’s MUM rail.
    • Center the RAYVN MUM rail adapter on the thermal device’s MUM rail and hand-tighten all three hex screws to get a secure fit. Do not over-tighten.
  1. Final Checks:
    • Verify that all components are properly assembled and tightened.
    • Ensure no loose parts or misaligned components will affect the device's performance.
  1. Reattaching Devices:
    • Now, you can reattach your devices to the newly switched arms on the pods. (See device installation guide above.)

Congratulations! You have successfully switched the eye setup for each device using the RAYVN Rail modular design. If you encounter any issues or have further questions, please refer to the product manual or contact our customer support team for assistance.

Note: Always exercise caution and carefully handle the devices during the process to prevent any damage.
